Thursday 19th November- Triffid Brisbane- Juzzie Smith & Mescalito Blues.
It was the first time Mescalito Blues have performed at the Triffid in Brisbane. A place they’ve always wanted to perform at. (best show of 2020)
Gertting to catch up with Juzzie again was great, had been a few years since these two acts had run into each other out on the road. Juzzie is a great entertainer and an all round nice guy. His show was inspiring, the juggling and all that, it is something to be seen.
For Mescalito it was great to have Liam Bowditch (the Vultures, Doniger, The Van Bams) back playing with the Mescalito Blues. His guitar work in superior with his own unique feel and prowess.
Mescalito Blues set is 45mins of sheer “Dirty Swampy Blues”, with this growling vocals and rhythmic stomp induced by Liams lead work. I’d have to say that’s the best Mescalito have sounded in a while!
Great crowed, great venue, awesome sound and a buzz to play to people who love Original Music!
